A WALK TO REMEMBER: A Photowalk Tribute to Neil Clark Ongchanco and Ompong Tan
My Photowalk contribution.

I met Neil only once and just casually. I have known Ompong longer, associating him with Colorworld and local press contributions back in the 80's before I left Baguio in 1989.
Returning to my city of birth last December, I saw both of them actively covering Panagbenga, last seeing Ompong, walking down Session Road, with what seems like a recurring sight when events occur.

I did not realize their impact to the city until the tragedy occurred. My longtime friends messaged me about it, social media was abuzz with the terrible accident that claimed these two talented photographers' lives. Then came the tributes and testimonies on how both affected their own photography, or even their lives. It was a topic that was shared with everyone I knew.

As a photographer, I am awed at the love and care that the community of Baguio showed for the loss of one young but established journalist and an older mentor to many, who has contributed through his picture taking.

So, as I walk with some of Baguio's most talented photographers, in memory of the two greats. I try to see Neil and Ompong, on this sunny Sunday morning.
Here are my photos from my walk. In each one, I see Neil and Ompong.
